Resume Keyword Checker

Paste your resume and a job description side by side to see which keywords overlap and which are missing. Many applicant tracking systems filter resumes by keyword match, so this gives you a quick read on where you stand.

This is a keyword-overlap heuristic similar to basic ATS systems — not a guarantee of passing every applicant tracking system.

How it works

The checker extracts significant keywords and two-word phrases from the job description, filtering out common English stop words and generic job-posting filler. It then scans your resume text for each keyword and reports which ones appear and which are missing.

Keywords are sorted by how frequently they appear in the job description, so the ones listed first in the "missing" section are likely the most important to the hiring team. The match percentage gives you a rough sense of alignment, but remember that quality matters more than quantity — stuffing irrelevant keywords won't help you in an interview.
