Time Zone Converter

Scheduling a call across time zones goes wrong for one of two reasons: someone forgot which side of a daylight saving transition each city is on, or someone did the math correctly for right now but the meeting is next month, after the clocks change. This converter pulls current UTC offsets for each city (not fixed numbers), so a meeting between London and New York shows the correct gap whether you're checking it in January or July.

How to use the Time Zone Converter

  1. Select your source time zone from the dropdown or let it detect your local zone automatically.
  2. Enter the time and date you want to convert.
  3. Add one or more target time zones to see the converted times side by side.
  4. Check the day/night indicators to see if the proposed time falls within business hours for each zone.
  5. Adjust the time or date as needed until you find a slot that works for everyone.

The daylight saving trap

The UK and US don't shift their clocks on the same date, which means the gap between London and New York time is sometimes 5 hours and sometimes 4, depending on the week. Countries like India, and most of the year in much of Asia and Africa, don't observe daylight saving at all, so their offset from Europe or the Americas changes with the season even though their own clock never moves. If you're setting up a recurring meeting, check the offset again close to any daylight-saving transition date. A meeting invite set months ahead can quietly become an hour off.

Frequently asked questions

Does it account for daylight saving automatically?

Yes. Offsets are calculated live rather than hardcoded, so they update correctly across DST transitions.

Can I compare more than two cities at once?

Yes, add as many cities as you need to the list and they'll all update together as you adjust the reference time.

What if the city I want isn't listed?

Search by the nearest major city in the same time zone. Perth and the rest of Western Australia, for instance, share one offset, so any city in that zone will give you the correct conversion.
